"its taking so long" i havent even had my period twice since the 1.5 update, yet some ppl r acting like its been 83 yrs. is patience a word in their vocabulary or do they just think infinikki is made by independent fairies who also dont need to eat or sleep
"they want our money, they posted new banners right after the announcepology" literally it is on schedule for those banners to b running, meaning they utilised every minute they could before then to analyse solutions until they had to make a statement, cause the scheduled post were going to happen
"this isnt enough" its not, but can u imagine the process all of these decisions have to go through to b approved? how every solution needs programming and compensation? theres literally paid bundles for the dye system currency. how r they going to compensate players who already bought those if they change the dye system? and if they have ideas, will higher ups approve them?
"they didnt address all this stuff" its in the statement that they have other issues they r aware of that they r going to b fixing in due time. it even says they cant talk abt it yet, probably cuz the exact decisions havent been made yet or the optimal solutions havent been figured out.
"they said that the retcon was accident, what a lie!" they did not say that, they said they didnt know how to implement this new stuff to integrate it into the story and in their rush to publish the new update, this is the decision they arrived on. they said theyll think of a way to fix this. its not easy, cuz how do u make new players who had the sea of stars tutorial experience the beginning of the game w/o messing up their accounts with non-linear quests. programming is hard and takes time. let those poor employees sleep, theyre not the ceos and investors u r actually mad at.
i know the 1.5 update is a fucking disaster, but with that in mind, of course its gonna take time and delicate work to tackle. you want them to respond and say what? "we hear you and were working on it"? if they have to make that statement every week without being able to disclose what theyre even working on (cuz they themselves arent sure what exactly will be implemented or how, due to needing a green light from higher ups) ppl will just throw a "youre lying!" fit instead. its a lose-lose situation.
u should definitely apply pressure, u should definitely express what it is exactly u want fixed, but complaining that difficult things take time is just not okay. istg ppl have completely lost their ability to patiently wait at this point.

Why Export?

When should you export?
Personally, I like to export every 5 chapters or so and update my live version on Google Docs. This allows my family, friends, and beta readers to access my edited work.
After finishing a draft or major revision.
Before sending to an editor or formatting for publication.
Where should you export?
Personally I copy and paste my content from each chapter into a google doc for editing. You may also want to make note of the following export options:
Markdown to Word (.docx) – For editing or submitting.
Markdown to PDF – For quick sharing
Markdown to Scrivener – For those who format in Scrivener.

Hello whats your opinions about the simbolism that surrounds tron (Flynn, clu, Sam, MCP, quota)? How do you interpretante them? To you What does clu perfect sistems means?
Ooooo... interesting question.
So, I'm not sure about Symbolism between characters, but I'd be happy to listen to your thoughts on the matter!
As for the "Perfect System"...
C.L.U was designed to create a perfect system based on the Ideology Flynn had of one when he was created. However, this idea seems to have never been fully fleshed out (Flynn admitting that even if I am remembering correctly). Human ideals can change just as swiftly as the wind itself, adapt, modify... Flynn especially. He's a dreamer, he chases ideas and gets himself into equally as many messes, and the prospect of the Grid was a playground for him.
For Flynn, the perfect system was a place to escape reality... a place of infinite digital Opportunity and Dreaming to reshape reality itself. A dreamer's paradise where anything and everything could happen at his fingertips at any given moment. Just like it was when he went into the Encom System. He chases a feeling... an Idea... a memory. And he needed someone to just... organize that a bit.
For C.L.U though... Different story.
C.L.U isn't human. C.L.U doesn't chase dreams and ideals and these big lofty whimsical human fancies. HE receives the "Perfect system" command differently than what Flynn saw.
To C.L.U, he latches onto one aspect of the grand plan. Parts that can be understood from a code perspective. At first... his "Perfect System" revolves around Flynn. Stabilize his many projects, make sure the Grid runs smoothly, keep Programs running in line... exc. Bring some clarity and linear organization to the randomized whims of his maker. But... that still isn't perfect. Flynn is constantly trying to chase Perfection in a way he can't Process...
Then... the ISOs happen.
Dangerous, unstable variables. Imperfect coding, wild and ununified looks, no true reason for being on the Grid, no written function other than to just EXIST. They are imperfect. They are unstable. That means they are a threat to the perfect waffle-square organization that C.L.U had tried to form. They waste resources, they slot themselves into places previously perfectly on schedule by dedicated programs. Suddenly... that paper ladder perfection is shattered.
But Flynn sees nothing wrong. Flynn is FACINATED by them.
He can't understand. They are barely better than a glitch... an infection leeching away the previous perfection he had been building. Flynn sees nothing wrong with them.
I.E... Flynn is wrong.
His coding is perfect. He is to create the perfect system. He is to "Change the world".
That... is when the second idea of perfection sets in.
Reshape. Humanity.
Flynn is imperfect. He tries to reason, fix the imperfections. Doesn't work. Ok... then it must be deleted. Humanity is flawed... imperfect. Flynn wanted a perfect system to reshape the world.
He would reshape the world to the idea of Programmed perfection. A world with no variables, no wasted resources and "Programs" that had no function. Everything would be perfectly set in their places. Everything controlled and managed to fit a singular working blueprint of how it would function to the most optimal way. No dreaming, that wastes energy and disorganizes. No switching functions, only what you were programed to do. Perfect optimal running of a world to get it to FUNCTION to the highest performance.
Like a computer. Not a society. Mechanical function. NOT ideal or personal function.
But even then... it isn't enough. Programs are too... human. Programs fight back. They are flawed by the code written into them by human hands.
So he rewrites them. Organizes them to fit their perfect functions in the System. Those who don't fit into that criteria are taken out of the equation. Only what exists to make the Grid run smoothly and to its best efficiency is kept.
But still... that Imperfection lingers.
So... He turns his eyes to "Reshaping Humanity". If he could delete the variables, reprogram those who had brought them into functioning in the first place... there would be ORDER.
C.L.U's perfect system was just that... a System. Organized. A Grid or System running to the best of its given function... existing. Nothing more. Unchanging.
That's my take on the matter of C.L.U's perfection. Not sure if this answers what you were wanting to know, but that's my two bits!

Looking at all your programming posts, I don't even want to ask you when you sleep, because I feel like you don't. Rather, what I want to ask is where do you get extra ten hours per day.

This is very funny to me because the truth is I actually sleep a whole lot? I've been having chronic fatigue issues since a year or few before the pandemic hit so I'm generally always kind of tired, and my periods of activity are often punctuated by just going to sleep for 1-3 hours afterwards. Like, I currently work 5 hours a day for 3 days a week, and the first thing I do when I get home after work is sleep. Then on the fridays after my three day work week I typically sleep something like 12 hours or more because at that point I'm just deceased, a literal zombie with a hunger for naps instead of brains.
So no extra hours here I'm afraid! I also don't really get anywhere near as much done as it might sound like?? My brain just overthinks everything all the time and so I'll spend a week or few idly thinking about stuff like optimizing a blitting routine or doing FFXIV an outfit mashup or gpose or doing some electronics or retro computer project or the like, occasionally looking things up online or such to feed the rampant trains of thought and then maybe eventually reach a point where I somehow manage to condense all of that down to something that actually kinda works over one or more periods of a few hours.
Like, as much as I occasionally talk about the whole doing 8-bit indexed palette graphics in software over Windows GDI thing, I actually still haven't really gotten around to doing proper functional triangle drawing yet because I keep distracting myself with other stuff like SIMD tile blitting instead of getting around to figuring out how to best do bounds checking for fast bresenham lines in a way that also allows for filling the pixels in between them through integer linear interpolation. And instead of doing that, I'm distracting myself by thinking up ways to write a python script for converting 32-bit ARGB .png files to some kind of simple binary 8-bit colour format consistently, which in turn means thinking up structs to define the layout of the binary file headers and so on.
all while I still also have plenty of work to do at, well, work, haha.
honestly I wish I had an extra 10 or more hours a day - I constantly feel like I'm barely getting anything at all done because everything takes too much time to do and I just never seem to have enough energy for barely any of it.

Hmm, looks like I need an algorithm for finding a solution to a linear system of Diophantine equations (over integers). Preferably one I can implement, like…today. Without access to matrix libraries or anything (in Lean). Oogh.
This doesn’t sound TOO hard (how naturally does the gcd trick extend to more variables + more equations?) but, well, the field of “Integer Programming” has a name for a reason…I’m hoping that reason is all to do with optimizing over integers being difficult, and not simply calculating some solution!
oh well! I will use my whimsy to do it!

The first week is almost done and I will be fighting for my life to have the schedule that I want 💪
Nonetheless I already have my thoughts :)
Strategic Management
Professor presented the class with a very sciency tone to it which is not my style for the type of content we will encounter as I have enough sciency courses this semester
The grade spit heavily relies on group work, and i might no have the time to do so this semester
Decision -> drop this semester
Linear Methods ||
NGL i am pretty anxious as the last time I had a linear course was 5 years ago so i am feeling rusty
I have been taught by this prof before, and I must say, I love me an organized math prof ( as it is a rarity)
She mentioned that it is a jump from Linear | with a theory & proofs base. It will be an interesting change of paste
I am scared though as for the last proof focused course i had to work my ass off to make it click but what didn't kill me made me stronger right :) hehe
Final Grade A
Complex Analysis |
This will be a "hard course" as my prof said.. but am i cocky to think it will go well for me? I've already survived real and numerical analysis
I love love love how jumpy and excited the prof is to teach, also he has been providing a lot of visuals and thorough explanations so far on complex concepts
I do acknowledge that for all the maths I will still have to grind, especially for this, as it is all about visualizing and understanding the complex planes but he draws a lot of visuals to help us
I will have to skip every Friday lecture due to another commitment so i have to be extremely proactive with this one
Final grade A-
Senior Project
I know one of the professors for this course, and it is a math capstone so i think it is less about the prof and more about my team
I am very scared but also excited as we get to find a topic and read papers on it
The final paper is 70% of the grade though 💀

I'm so EXCITED i felt attached to the prof's nice vibe since last time i had him for intro to mathematical finance. He feels very fair
This will be cool, one of the classes i looked forward to this whole degree and it has a 30% final which is unheard of in this department!

WHOHOO wrapping up my 2 year class (yep you read it right, i've been doing this program/ class for 1,5 year now)

I feel like i slacked in the past to establish the foundational knowledge on the business side of finance; so i will try to attend lectures of this class even though i am not enrolled in
I like the prof, he is a PhD Finance student and is trying to make this course less theory more application which is exactly what i need to balance off the theory heavy finance i have in math
Overall, with working part time, managing a team of volunteers for the fund i am in, and 4 math courses i wish to do my best to optimize time but also be compassionate with myself. Show up for myself like i want to show up for others :D
I do hope that this stacked schedule will lower my spendings as i will be too busy to buy foods BUT it might do the opposite as i will not have enough time to meal prep 🤔

I was tagged by my internet daughter @lady-of-imladris and now I feel like my answers need to be chaotic enough for her approval.
1. Are you named after anyone?
No, my parents wanted the name to sound nice by itself, and in combination with my patronymic (Slavic things).
2. When was the last time you cried?
I tear up incredibly easily, so that can't count! But, the most recent real cry was probably about a month ago due to a combination of PMS and life.
3. Do you have kids?
Nay, though I'd like to!
4. What sports do you/have you played?
Used to play tennis competitively, and now do it leisurely. I love running (and I'm so happy that @lady-of-imladris is getting back into it!), swimming, badminton, beach volleyball. I enjoy bouldering, and probably other sports that I'm currently forgetting.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Less so now than when I was younger. In my twenties, I was a sarcastic little gal. Nowadays, I prefer directly shading people when I need to.
6. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Eyes, smile, vibes!
7. What's your eye color?
Green.
8. Do you prefer scary or happy endings for movies?
AHHhhhhhh I shall not choose. Both are good, depending on the story being told and what kind of ending feels more deserved.
9. Any talents?
Not to brag, but I am good at picking mushrooms in the forest and knowing which ones are tasty, which ones will make you see the universe, and which ones will return you to being one with the universe.
Also, in no particular order: writing, splits, memorizing phone numbers, pretty hand-writing, math - I guess.

Writing, reading, running, hiking, going to galleries and museums, music, making art with dried flowers, spending time with my animals, looking at the moon and the stars through my telescope! Also, antiquing, furniture assembly and other handy things. Oh, and dressing up for Ren Faires.

14. Favorite school subject?
Wow, thanks for pointing out that I am ancient, because I'm sitting here and wondering "what level of education is this quiz referring to?" So I'm listing everything! Primary school - I loved pretty much every subject. High school - physics, math, drama, French. Undergrad - operations research, databases (?), history and philosophy of science. Masters - ugh.... Integer programming. PhD - Linear programming, convex optimization.
15. Dream occupation?
While I found @lady-of-imladris' "I don't dream of labour" lovely and oftentimes relatable, it actually gave me a pause. I don't dream of labour in a sense that I definitely do not adore toiling for some corporations to get richer, but I do consistently try and be occupied with things that I like and I have been fortunate to be able to do so!
Anyhow! My dream occupations have been writing, doing science, and doing "business", when I was little - and I'm happy to report that I have tried variations of all of these things, with various levels of success and satisfaction.
I am YET to have a career as "Indiana Jones" or "James Bond" - but perhaps, one day!

Statistics is another tool you must have a good knowledge of, as a toolkit that will help you make sense of all the numbers and patterns you deal with. Next is machine learning, and here you train the data model by using a huge amount of data and make predictions out of it.

The Programming Language Every Data Scientist Must Know
